My parents are divorced, around a year now. My mother was a nice person at the time, but now she has changed. I am currently living 50/50 (+ More Reasons, Personal)
So, I wanted to live with my father. I was wondering how old you have to be to to Choose a parent In Manitoba, Canada?
Also, do you need to go to court or anything.
My Father has not '; Influenced'; Me in any way, so It is MY decision.
How can a 15 year old pick their legal parent.?
You can get your dad to file for full custody. You just have to really make sure that your reason is because he is the better parent. Do not even bother doing this if you just got grounded or something. You will regeret it! Do it because you honestly feel that your father is the one who provides for you better and listens better and is just an overall more caring and loving parent! How can a 15 year old pick their legal parent.?
Yes, you'll have to go to court. I suggest you have your father contact his custody attorney to get the most accurate answer in regards to the age that you can choose who you live with.
You mean custodial not legal. Both of your parents are your legal parents.
You can always talk to your dad about trying to get full custody of you.
If you could stick it out with your mum till your 16 i think it would be a cleaner option.

If one parent is blood type A and the other is type O, What blood type will the baby be?
The baby could be O or A
As the blood group A can be AA or AO (both are written as group A). Group O is OO (written as group O). If the latter was true (group A person is AO) then there is a 50% chance of the baby being group A and 50% chance that the baby would be group O as the baby would inherit one of the genes from each person. If the group A person is AA, then the baby would also be group A.
Are you sure that your mum is group O and not group A?If one parent is blood type A and the other is type O, What blood type will the baby be?
That depends...A is dominant so mom could be AO or AA...O is recessive so that parent is OO...baby could be either A or O, depending on if the a parent has 2 dominant genes or just the one.If one parent is blood type A and the other is type O, What blood type will the baby be?
Either. But definately not B

Can a parent force his/her underaged child to donate an organ to save a sibling?
Even if the child refusesCan a parent force his/her underaged child to donate an organ to save a sibling?
Wow what a tough question.. I dont think you can because the quality of life for the second child, (the donating child) could be diminished. Idont pretend to understand what you are going through and this is easily the toughest question i have tried to answer so i will just give my input and only because it was asked for. I hope some one can donate it to you, does it have to be a sibling? Can it come thru the donor program? This could save one child but could be harmful to the other. Which organ is needed? People need their organs consult your doctor, priest, pastor , counselor, and family for your best answer. God bless you and your family. Can a parent force his/her underaged child to donate an organ to save a sibling?
I would think it would depend on the age of the child.
they cant
I hope to God not, If anything they may be able to convince them to want to donate the organ
i don't think they can take a donated organ from a living child. i think they can only be donated if a child dies. there aren't many organs you can give and still function and it would be wrong to expect a minor to make any kind of decision like that, even to save a sibling.
NO
Reguardless of the childs age, you cannot force a medical procedure on them. The child does have rights even if they are under age
you should read a book called ';My Sisters Keeper'; By Jodi Piccoult. This book is about your very question. Its a wonderful book.
No, they can not.
In order for someone to donate an organ, whether they are child or adult, they have to undergo very comprehensive exams-both physical and mental. If it is determined to not be in the best interest of the donor, for any reason, then they will not be allowed to donate. The psychologist would realize that the child does not wish to do it, and that it is not in his or her best interest.
A parent can not force a chld to have any procedure that is not necessary for is or her health-for instance, they can make vaccinations compulsory because they are for the health of the child, they can have blood drawn because it is for the overall health of the child. However, they can not force a child to have an elective or cosmetic surgery, or donate an organ, if it is not for the health of THAT child.
I think even further stipulations would be put in place when the potential donor is a minor-for instance, as an adult I could understand the risks and consequences of donating one of my kidneys. However, a child can not. I think that would be a heavy weight in the decision of the medical staff as to whether to allow such an action even IF the child was willing.
no.

Legally, what age does a child have to be to refuse to go on visitation with a parent?
My son is 11 years old and is asking not to have to go visit his father.
Does anyone know the ';legal'; aspect of this subject?Legally, what age does a child have to be to refuse to go on visitation with a parent?
Legally, there is no age. The court orders need to be changed, but you don't mention why. Boys generally do not make this request unless they are being influenced to do so by their mother. That's called Parental alienation Syndrome and could be grounds for change of custody. If you are doing this on purpose, stop as it is child abuse. You may be doing it unintentionally, so examine what you are doing that may be causing this.
Unless there are overriding reason, separating a father from the child causes long term and lasting adverse affects on a child. Especially a male child.

I would be very surprised if any state has ever set a law that sets a legal age where a juvenile can decide to see a parent. I certainly know California does not. Most states do take age into account during custody issues.
In other words you need to petition the court requesting to make an order that your child's father no longer has visitation. If there is no current order then theoretically you do not have to allow your child to go, but then again without an order...theoretically your child's father has the same amount of rights you have. If there is a court order outlining visitation you might want to follow it so you won't be hit with contempt.
It might be a good idea to find out why your kid doesn't want to see his dad. You, yourself very well might be the problem and I would bet that this is the case. Unless your kids dad beats him, abuses him in anyway, or locks him up in a room the man has the right to see he kid.
You need to go to court and fight it there.
18 is the age...Some states they hear a child's view around 12 BUT that is for where they live NOT if they visit. If he does not go, you will be held in contempt. Find out the reasons why he does not want to go. See if he will talk to his dad or write him an e-mail...Maybe it is a miscommunication between them. Could they agree to less time? Can the child and dad go to counseling to repair what is going on?
You are encouraging him not to go see his father by entertaining this request. If he said I do not want to go to school ..would you let him stay home? He should see his father just like he sees you. I am sure there are times he does not agree with you and this should be between them. Encourage him to talk to his father....
in the state of ohio it is 12 yrs old, but along with that you have to take it back to court so you dont get a contemp of court charge for not sending him. but here if he goes in front of the judge and says i dont want to visit my dad because.............................. and the judge thinks it is just cause then the child doesnt have to go anymorefashion makeup

Has anyone adopted through foster care or a foster parent?
My husband and I are considering becoming foster parents so that we can adopt a baby through the system. Has anyone done this.. what are the chances of being able to foster infants only and then the possiblity of adopting a child. Thanks in advance for you help.Has anyone adopted through foster care or a foster parent?
Why do you want an infant? Even infants are not blank slates - they come with a unique history, personality, and their family characteristics. And ALL adopted children, infant or not, come with trauma from their losses.Has anyone adopted through foster care or a foster parent?
Im a foster parent who specialises in infants and alot of agencies from my experience wouldnt like it if you applied for their books with that being your sole intention. You can nominate your age group though. Also adoption through foster care although it does happen isnt as common as you might think and can be a very lengthy process. This is because especially with babies if they are given up when they are born then they only go to foster parents until their adoption through an agency is finalised. The other thing to consider is that you never quite know which babies will go into foster care permanently because the courts tend to put them on short term orders and reevaluate their cases every 3 - 6 months because they would much rather an infant eventually go back to their biological parents where possible. Fostering babies is very rewarding though regardless of wheather or not you get to adopt at the end of it and there are so many babies in need of care. I would just suggest researching your local agencies as they all have different policies. Best of luck
my mom and dad have had foster kids for about 20 years and during that time they have adopted 7 children. one was 2 days old when she came to live with them and another was 2 weeks. As a foster parent, you can tell the case worker what age you want to have and usually that is the age range that you get. With all the kids that they have adopted, my parents got the first option for adoption because they had had the kids for so long. They are now all between 16 and 9 years old. Good luck to you! It's really worth it. I wouldn't give up my brothers and sisters for anything!!
Rebekah is right with her answer. Most Agency's dont want you to just become a foster parent for an infant age group. They like it where you would be more flexible with your foster children. Adopting a infant foster child can take years......being a foster paretn for toddlers and school age children can be very rewarding as well....and you can adopt a child of that age if they are free for adoption.
the way I understand it is you donot have a choice on who comes into your home when you get the call you have to accept..
There are many many lovely children in foster care in need of a home, why restrict yourself to infants?
yes, my brother was adopted by his foster parents. They r no more, RIP.
I have 5 children I adopted from foster care. two girls age 11 and three boys age 10, 9 and 8.
I recommed contacting your local DHS office and talking to someone there. We were married 16 years and no children so we got our foster lic. and boom 5 toddlers in 3 months and now we have them all adopted. They are cute and healthy and happy and so are we.
My husband and I became foster to adopt parents to a 13 day old baby boy in 2005. 20 months later we finally went to court to adopt him. It was the best day of our lives and we knew that this was the right direction for our family when we looked into Foster to Adopt.
But just recently, we got back on the waiting list and we were placed with a 2 day old baby boy. After a month in our home he was removed to live with relatives. My husband and I have since decided not to do Foster to Adopt. Dealing with case workers who are over worked and confused most of the time about what case they are working on just got to be to much. We did deal with a very difficult case worker in our Foster to Adopt son's case, and an even more difficult one this second time around.
Just know that if you do decided to go the Foster Care route, that you probably will be placed with several children who will be removed to go to relatives or back to the biological mothers, before you finally are able to adopt a child you raised from infancy. The case workers number one goal is Reunification to parents and secondly, to relatives. Foster Parents are last on the list.
Don't let anyone tell you that you will not get placed with an infant, because they DO place infants....but you might not get to adopt them for awhile, or at all because Relatives can pop up in the picture.
The fact that we were able to adopt the first Foster child placed in our home is very uncommon. We are very lucky that it turned that we adopted him only after waiting 20 months in the Foster Care System. We were told by the Adoption Caseworker that most families average 4 to 5 placements before they are finally placed with a child they are able to adopt.
Good luck! :)

Do my parent's have to be there when I get a face piercing or is it oka if i just have their consent?
Like, do they have to be present when I get the piercing? If not, how would the shop people know that I have parental consent? Lastly, about how much would it cost to get an eyebrow piercing?Do my parent's have to be there when I get a face piercing or is it oka if i just have their consent?
Yes, a guardian over the age of 18 does need to be present to ensure that you're not forging a signature. But my piercing place just needs them to come in with ID and you're set. Prices vary from $30 - $65 depending on the place and jewelry you're planning to get.
Good Luck ;)Do my parent's have to be there when I get a face piercing or is it oka if i just have their consent?
They must be there to sign the form and provide I.D. to prove who they are, but after that, they can go do as they please; they don't have to stay and watch.
Price depends on where you go; price can vary greatly from place to place, I'd say anywhere from $25-$60. About midrange, $35-$45ish is the most reasonable price for a quality piercing.
Yes they have to be there to sign paperwork in front of the piercer. And both of you need IDs. A reputable piercing parlor in a big city can have piercings ranging from $75-$100.
well it depends on where you live. i live in california and yes you have to have parental concent because if anything happens to you while or after they are done piercing they are responsible. the reason they have parents present is so they can sign a release form saying they are willing to take the risk.
a piercing can usually cost anywhere from 30 to 60 dollars depending on where and the quality of their work.
make sure you can trust them and you have heard from others that they are a good place to go to. do some research on the place that you go to before you go.
They have to sign a couple of papers and stuff. They could
drop you off - sign the papers - then go.
Thats what my parents have done before (dad had work)
so i successfully had my lip done - i had my eyebrow before too.
but it looked manly so i kept it for only 2 weeks.
None of them had hurt.
-Uhm... You're parents would have to call for them to know you
have concent but its better if they show up.
-I don't recommend eyebrow.
It costed me 60$ :( Of course some prices are cheaper then
others it just depends where you go.
They would have to be there with you unless you are 18 years old.
The piercing are usually around 40 dollars depending on the place you go to.
