Suggestions on materials that will help with being a new parent?

I am a soon to be new mommy. I have read some good books on pregnancy and child birth but am looking to find some good materials that will help me with being a good mommy after the baby has arrived. any suggestion, and or advice would be very much appreciated!Suggestions on materials that will help with being a new parent?
Don't let ur baby become an asshole like my little cousinSuggestions on materials that will help with being a new parent?
the books can't prepare you for what you'll need to know. there is no instruction manual for kids. trust me if there were no one would be on this board. you just have to take it a step at a time and learn as you go. it comes natural for most parents others tend to struggle a bit but you'll catch on.
Be the best mommy you can be! Don't let anyone try and overtake your mommy instincts and your mommy decisions (unless you agree.) You are the mommy, no one else is! Love your child unconditionally (easy one ^_^) Be patient with your baby and yourself and if you feel yourself getting frustrated, take some deep breaths and continue to tell yourself that you can make it through the stress and whatever else is getting you worked up. One big thing you should know, everyone will tell you to sleep when the baby sleeps, do not feel obligated to do so! If you are not the type to take a nap (which most of us are) then do something for yourself instead. Read a book, watch a show, even clean if you want to. If you feel you can sleep when your baby does then by all means sleep, but don't feel like you have to make yourself sleep when you could be doing something else. If you ever have any questions about your baby (the hospital should give you the number of the nursery even after you bring your new baby home) call them and ask. There is never dumb question or too many. The book ';What to expect when you are expecting'; will also help you out a lot! Enjoy every minute of every day with your new baby, because sadly it does go by fast! Take lots of pictures, write everything down! Enjoy your new life as a mommy! Congratulations!
Well, I enjoyed the What to Expect books, especially the sections we could flip to when the baby got sick or had a rash... it was a good resource in that way. However, you will find that not only is every pregnancy and delivery different, but each baby is different. Your style of parenting may even differ. No book should ever tell you how to raise your child. I learned very quickly after having my son that although the books were interesting to read, they were, for the most part, for entertainment purposes only. We did actually get a book from Publix when we signed up for their baby club online, which was a good resource, especially on what to do in case of emergencies, good/healthy foods, etc.
