Should a step parent be finacially responsible for their step children, instead of their biological fathers?

I have 4 kids and their dads don't pay child support, so I was recieving cash aid for them instead. But I just got remarried and now the government says my new husband should be finacially responsible for my kids. Their dads are alive and well, just lazy bums. I think it is unfair, due to my husband has 2 kids of his own to support...Should a step parent be finacially responsible for their step children, instead of their biological fathers?
He married you so he accepted the children. You could just drop the kids off on their fathers doorstep and you can just focus on the new husbands children if it has become such a burden. This is not sarcasm, I know people who this has happened to. But the bottom line is I am not responsible for raising your kids either.Should a step parent be finacially responsible for their step children, instead of their biological fathers?
Of course the fathers should be responsible for the child support of their own offspring.

They did the crime, and they should do the time!

But, conversely, a woman should be more selective about the individuals who father her children. A woman who repeatedly chooses a deadbeat father for her children obviously lacks good judgment. That's why birth control is a good idea, and should be mandatory for such individuals.
Who's side are you on? A man who has no blood ties to your child? or your own kids? You shouldn't have married a man who thought of your own children as burdens.

Your children should come first. If you have to go to court to get that money from the dead beats do it. But I suspect your mans character comes into question.
Yes. If you remarry, you're new husband becomes financially responsible for your kids. The government does not need to bail you out anymore. If your kids are too much of a burden for your new husband, you can try suing your kids' deadbeat fathers.
A court would probably side with you on back payments. But once you're married, he's no longer financially responsible. In most states anyway.
No.
